The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience leading teams.  Previous positions should include Factory Manager or Production Manager or similar.  The Candidate’s CV will show growth in responsibility and hands on experience on the factory floor as well as a stable employment record.

The actual title for this position is Chief Block Maker.

The expectations for the position is that the candidate

  • Will be the best Block Maker.
  • Will create Block Making teams that produce consistent quality product repetitively with German automated continuous operation plant.
  • Will create Block Making teams that are motivated to Continuously Improve and will share with them the ‘How’.
  • Will have a stable employment record.
  • Will demonstrate their own self-awareness by being able to describe in their own language how they have built teams before with the above qualities.

A coil spring contains only certain concepts. These concepts are clearly applicable to a coil spring. One cannot reproduce a coil spring with concepts not applicable to a coil spring.

It is the same with Block Making. The specific block making concepts must be understood exactly by all those involved in Block Making and live in them so that we can have good quality emerge at wet side.

Foundational Concepts

  1. The plant must be to design and maintained to this standard; and
  2. The staff must understand block making, be managed, and be cared for; and
  3. The mix must be consistent (and quality of the highest standards); and
  4. The TP concepts must be understood and practiced; and
  5. We must administer, measure and report so that we can correct ourselves

Skill and Experience

  1. A Technical degree such as Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial engineering or equivalent qualification.
  2. MS Office fluent.
  3. Can describe how and when they have influenced improvements in previous environments.
  4. A stable employment record.
  5. IR and Labour relations knowledge and experience.
  6. Be self-aware.
  7. Can describe their own personal growth and development.
  8. Can describe where and why they are the example for others.
