Role Description:
Internal Audit & Quality Assurance Officer
Purpose of the Role:
The Internal Audit & Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring the integrity, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the company’s Operational Systems, Internal Control Environment, and Quality Management System (QMS)
The role supports management through ensuring that:
- Operational processes are followed consistently
- Internal controls protect company resources
- The system constraint is protected
- The company maintains stable flow through the production system
- Continuous improvement is supported through structured feedback and root cause analysis
Core Role Philosophy:
In a TOC-driven manufacturing business, system discipline protects flow.
This role ensures that:
- Processes are followed
- Controls are functioning effectively
- Operational decisions support throughput
The objective is not policing people but protecting the system that enables the business to perform reliably.
Founding Concepts:
- Know and understand the end-design of internal controls throughout the business.
- Internal controls need to be documented and easily accessible to others via a QMS.
- Understand & communicate who is the process owner for each part of the holistic workflow.
- Governance & Audit Compliance.
- Make suggestions for continued process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in one of the following areas:
- Accounting
- Internal auditing
- Quality management
- Business management
- Industrial engineering
- Experience:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in one of the following areas:
- Internal auditing
- Quality assurance
- Process auditing
- Manufacturing environment
- Experience in a ‘Process-driven Manufacturing Environment’ will be advantageous.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of:
- Internal control frameworks
- Quality management systems
- Process documentation
- Risk management
- Manufacturing operations
